About Cormed

Cormed was founded in 2017 with a vision to promote the development and sales of the only Reposable Skin Stapler system of its kind in the medical marketplace today.

Mr. David Corasanti and Dr. Dale Kosted, DVM, partnered together when Mr. Corasanti was at ConMed in Utica, NY.; a partnership that has developed into the company of Cormed of today.

Cormed’s mission is to offer a product that is less wasteful than a traditional disposable, less costly to the end user, easy to use, and all the while demonstrating a commitment to the highest quality of instrumentation that can be produced.

The People Behind Cormed

David Corasanti
Founder, CEO

Mr. David G. Corasanti is the founder and president of Cormed. After graduating from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 1989, Mr. Corasanti went on to have a successful career in medical sales and marketing. Mr. Corasanti started with 3M/Lanier in Denver Colorado. He then moved on to a small Medical firm ( at the time ) ConMed, where he worked in varying capacities for 23 years. Mr. Corasanti started by being responsible for Canadian Sales and distribution, and then went on to being Territory Manager for New York State. He then moved into Marketing of Laparoscopic Products and helped to found the Minimally Invasive Surgical Division at ConMed, that grew from $3.5 million in sales in 2000, to having over $80 million in sales as a division when he left in 2015. He had responsibility for product development, marketing, and sales of products that included Skin Staplers, where ConMed made over 1,500,000 million skin staplers per year. It was here that he developed Skin Stapler manufacturing know how and he also met and partnered with Dr. Dale Kosted, DVM to explore the development of the next generation of Skin Staplers that are now offered through Cormed, as you see today.

The Skin Stapler System may be used for skin closure in a wide variety of surgical procedures.

Cormed skin staplers are designed for all general surgical procedures where skin closure is needed and appropriate such as but not limited to: "Open” general surgical procedures and “Closed” general laparoscopic surgical procedures. Cormed offers instant back-up if more than 35 staples are needed with a quick cartridge re-load.
